Following on from introducing you to the Green Team members – it’s now time to find out what motivated them to join.
So, I wanted to be part of the green team to make sure Noah and his children have a better world to live in; cleaner, greener and fairer.
I am passionate about working towards a better future for all. Everyone has a part to play if we are going to make a difference on sustainable issues and we need to work together, as individuals and in business.
I want to be a part of the Green Team to share ideas with colleagues and learn from others on how to do things differently. The Green Team have a common goal and it’s really rewarding to influence better ways of working within the company.
Sustainable projects are essential and exciting too.
Ever since I started taking small steps towards a more sustainable lifestyle, I started noticing many things that could be improved within the office environment we work in every single day. I started thinking to myself, how much impact it would have on the world if everyone in the office made a small change in their life! It is difficult to keep motivated to do the right thing when feeling so small in such a big world and not seeing any results, but as a TEAM it just feels so possible. After joining the Green Team as one of the original members and seeing the support we get throughout the company, I felt like I wasn’t alone and it’s great to see how many people care about the various causes we stand for. It is so important to recognise how many different aspects come under sustainability, that it does not solely mean recycling your used plastic bottle! It includes for example helping colleagues stay mentally and physically healthy during lockdown, supporting others in need, rethinking your choices to reduce waste and carbon footprint. It feels great knowing how much we all contributed this last year to a greener and happier future ahead. 😊
ZENA ARIS- SUTTON
I have joined the Green team to help the business be more sustainable.
I already improve my sustainability at home and personally, so it seems natural to help improve it in the workplace.
We only have one planet, caring about it can improve health, safety and save money.
Making a difference not only in business but the community and planet, resulting in a better and brighter place that will last for everyone.
I wanted to join the Green Team because I had a realisation that we can be both part of the problem and part of the solution. Business is to blame for a lot of things regarding climate change. But it’s also business that can save the world through innovation and more responsible corporate behaviour.
Achieving sustainability is the single toughest, most pressing issue in the history of mankind, and we need people and companies who have the courage to lead by example. That’s why sustainability is so important to me and being part of the Green Team allows me to play a part in driving change to make sure we leave the planet better than we found it for the future generations.
I have two needs that being part of the Green Team, satisfies. The need to understand more about a subject I care a lot about that leads me to take small steps and actions every day to contribute to making a difference in this crazy global crisis we have, and the second is to be able to influence directly decisions that affect my team and I directly when dealing with all the Waste that comes across our collective radars.
Sustainability is a passion and of course I wanted to be involved in helping the Green Team and 100% achieve as much as possible. I’ve now taken courses in sustainability, carbon footprinting and circular economy and sit on the committee of our village sustainability group.
As soon as 100 Percent decided to create the Green Team I knew I had to be part of it! I try to do as much as I can to reduce the impact on the climate within my personal life and this platform gave me the opportunity to do the same within my work. I love talking to clients about the progress we are making through the industry and inspiring others to think differently.
Having my own child a few years ago has only emphasised the importance in making sure that we leave this planet better than we found it. We have the opportunity to make an impact and have never been more equipped with data and tools to act! I want the next generation to look at the adults of today and know that we did everything we could.
